John is the Vice President of Purchasing and Technical Services for RepairClinic.com in Canton, Michigan. He joined RepairClinic.com, a comprehensive online resource for do-it-yourself home appliance repair help, parts, and information, at the company's inception in 1999. John is responsible for monitoring the company's appliance parts inventory, assisting in the development of the technical content displayed on the website, and regularly trains staff on appliance repair.
In 2000, John started and was responsible for the daily operations of the RepairClinic.com call center until he stepped down in November, 2006. In 2004, he designed a new retail parts counter at the headquarter facility.
In June 2007, RepairClinic.com launched the "Appliance Repair Show" from the Fisher Building in Detroit, Michigan on News Talk 760 WJR radio featuring John as the host--airing every Sunday from 9 A.M. to 10 A.M. EST. He shares his more than 25 years of experience assisting people who want to fix their own appliances and provides up-to-date knowledge and general appliance advice on operation and installation. The "Appliance Repair Show" has broadcasted live from inside the North American International Auto Show as well as from the Bay Harbor Golf Club in Petoskey, Michigan.
Previous to his career at RepairClinic.com, John moved through the ranks of the appliance industry. He attended a local community college in Flint, Michigan where he studied heating and cooling. He worked as a maintenance person for a restaurant chain where he traveled three states for over a year repairing equipment for 50 stores. In 1985, John began working for a premiere appliance service company in Ann Arbor, Michigan. His journey began by selling appliance parts, working in the repair shop, and performing in-home service calls on a variety of high-end and domestic home appliances. His hard work and dedication led to a management position. He held this position prior to joining RepairClinic.com.
John is factory trained to work on such items as commercial microwaves, soft serve ice cream machines, commercial ice machines, and other commercial cooking equipment. He has also attended hundreds of manufacturer sponsored training sessions on major home appliances covering many brands and product types.
John is a divorced father of two boys, John and Erik. He loves to spend quality time with his children; teaching and enjoying shared hobbies. John graduated from high school in 1979 where he played football and was a member of the track team. His favorite hobbies include hunting, golfing, fly fishing, snowmobiling, competitive shooting, and canoeing. Other favorites include:
