The icemaker is not making ice

The first thing to check is if the icemaker has been turned off. There is a metal wire coming out of the right side of the icemaker, if it is raised up then it is turned off, lower the arm to turn it on.

Next, check the freezer temperature with a thermometer, the freezer should be between 0 and 8 degrees Fahrenheit. If the temperature is too high (more than 10 degrees), the icemaker will not make ice.

If the temperature is correct, then it may be a problem with the water inlet valve. If the water valve is defective, it will not allow water through to fill the icemaker. You can test it by pouring water into the icemaker, if it makes ice correctly and dumps it into the ice bucket, then the water valve is probably defective.
