Appliance:
Whirlpool Gas Dryer
Problem:
Gas dryer taking too long to dry
Solution:
Gas dryers pulse the heat in the drum and this means that the machine has
started working. This will light the main burner assembly. If you push the
start button and it is heating, you know it is working.
The other thing you need to always inspect is the vent. Make sure that it's clean, not crunched and that it has access all the way to the outside. If there is an airflow backup, the thermostat mounted on the burner assembly will shut the unit off because it's sensing the dryer is overheating.
Good airflow is essential for fixing this Whirlpool dryer repair.
Appliance:
Whirlpool Gas Dryer, Model LG5781XKN1
Problem:
Dryer shuts off before the cycle is completed
Solution:
The
most common cause is the thermal fuse (part #3390719) is
blown. It's a small, white plastic electrical part with two small wires going
to it. The thermal fuse is a one-time fuse that shuts down the dryer if it
trips or overheats. It is mounted on
the blower housing.
You can check the thermal fuse with an ohmmeter (part #DM10T) for continuity; if it doesn't have continuity then the fuse is bad and needs to be replaced. Remove the thermal fuse from the dryer before testing it.
