Appliance:
Jenn-Air Electric Range
Problem:
Electric range downdraft fan not working; the range has an electric
fan instead
of a vent above it - a downdraft.
Everything seems to work well on the range,
except that the fan no longer works at all. There's a rocker switch, where
you click it one way it turns the fan on and if you click it the other way it
turns the oven light
on. The oven light works but the fan does not.
Solution:
The switch is something that frequently fails. Turn the
power off to the appliance and remove the two screws that hold the cover on. Check the
switch, there is probably a burned wire on the fan, or the switch itself might have failed.
If the switch works, then the problem might be with the blower motor itself. Normally, this part is mounted underneath the unit, it all depends on the installation.
To find the model number of your range, open up the oven door. The model number tag should be around the door frame, or you may have to remove the cartridges to get to it.
This should not be a difficult Jenn-Air range repair. As long as you go wire for wire on the switch, you should not have too much trouble installing the new part.
Appliance:
Jenn Air Combination Range, Model SVD48600
Problem:
LED display has failed
Solution:
If the LED is no
longer displaying the time or cooking temperature then you will have to replace
the electronic oven control assembly.
You will have to remove the
faceplate (part #71002310) in order to gain
access to the electronic clock control. There are usually several screws around
it that need to be removed. You will need to disconnect the ribbon connector
and all wiring to replace it.
